2. Convoy camp on Coventry Rd (RCGT park)
OCA is alarmed by the presence of the command post here in Overbrook, and the steady flow of protesters and their vehicles through our community. We have been in communication with selected media, our Councillor, some concerned residents and residents near Coventry Road. We have written a letter to elected officials in all levels of government about the Coventry Rd command post and community safety concerns. We are in discussion about a joint letter with the Community Collective (7 community associations in the area).
3. Overbrook 100: History of the Rideau Tennis and Squash Club
Check out our new Overbrook 100 web page and help us add to it! We have launched it with a book from the Ottawa Sports Hall of Fame Archives about the old Rideau Tennis Club, The Rideau: 75 Years in the Life- A History of the Rideau Tennis and Squash Club, digitized with the assistance of a City of Ottawa Heritage Funding Program Grant.
This is only the beginning, and we hope to add more interesting Overbrook historical photos and documents enabling the community to explore our diverse story.
If you have any ideas, suggestions, information or photos to share or wish to be involved in OCA's overall 100th anniversary celebrations, please contact us at info@overbrook.ca.
