This fall, the Overbrook Community Association, with a grant from Ecology Ottawa, has been busy creating a series of pollinator gardens around the Rideau Sports Centre at 1 Donald Street.

Students from the Department of Sociology at Carleton University have been working with us, and have created this info-grafic to better explain what a pollinator garden is, and why they are so important.

THANK YOU to our partners on the Pollinator Project

Overbrook Day - Saturday, August 10th

We're going big this year with Overbrook Day and blocking off Edith street between Glynn and Queen Mary for a block party!

You can expect fun games for all ages, sports led by community leaders like PrezDential and a delicious supper provided by local restaurants.  We'll end the night with a local talent show!

Here's how you can help!

  1. Sign up to participate in the talent show (sing a song, do a magic trick etc)

  2. Volunteer to deliver flyers promoting Overbrook Day

  3. Volunteer during the event!

Legal Information Session - Know your Rights

We have heard from community members that had questions regarding what their rights were about police interactions, more specifically when questioned by police or when the police want to enter their homes.

We've therefor asked a not for profit project with the University of Ottawa who provide free legal advice on these issues to come speak with us.

We welcome you to this free information session at the Overbrook Community Centre (33 Quill) form 6pm to 8pm on Thursday August 15th followed by free one-on-one intake sessions if folks have more specific questions..
