An Overbrook & Castle Heights Community Sustainability Plan
Ottawa Biosphere Eco-City and the Overbrook Community Association held a virtual meeting to develop a community sustainability plan on January 15 this year. Ottawa Biosphere Eco-City has completed the report, which is LIVING document and an agenda for action individually and collectively.
Overbrook: Protecting the Tree Canopy While Transitioning to a 15-Minute Neighbourhood Workshop Analysis
In April 2021, Overbrook residents participated in a workshop held by Ecology Ottawa, Walkable Ottawa and Greenspace Alliance to consider neighbourhood walkability with a focus on how to protect the tree canopy. The goal of the workshop was to put together a proposed plan of action that would get a sample Overbrook street to 40% canopy as quickly as possible, and then maintain that percentage of tree canopy indefinitely.

In May 2020, Overbrook residents worked with architects from Rosaline J. Hill Architect Inc. to gather information about part of our neighbourhood and to outline a proposed transition into the compact walkable community that it could be. The report documents the process, proposed solutions and presents visualizations of the proposed changes over time.
Building Community Through Theatre, A Manual: How a small Ottawa neighbourhood successfully co-created and staged a community musical
On a Friday, Saturday and Sunday in late November 2017, a diverse group of Overbrook residents took to the stage to perform Overbrook the Musical. The manual tells the story and shares lessons learned so that others can take the idea and build on it in their own communities.
