Our main source of income is donations by residents. We are always grateful to receive whatever amounts residents can give.

Why Donate?

General Fundraising

The Overbrook Community Association aims to bring residents of Overbrook and Castle Heights together to make life better for everyone in the community. Led and powered entirely by committed volunteers, OCA works on an array of initiatives with residents and partners to address the needs and promote the interests of residents and the community as a whole.

OCA works with a small budget from donations, fundraising events, and grants from the City and other funders. We always welcome general donations to help us with operating costs and programming to engage youth, support community food security, make the community greener and more walkable and much more.

General donations help enable our activities including current key initiatives:

Community Planning

In addition to regular responses to residential development applications, the Committee has recently provided input on Ottawa’s new Official Plan and the R4 zoning review. It was involved in the creation of Lola Park playground and plans to enhance the “Four Corners” (intersection of Lola and Queen Mary)

Communications

Our social media, website and publication help connect and inform Overbrook neighbours and build our sense of community.

Overbrook’s Rideau River kiosk project

This Overbrook Community Association (OCA) legacy project involves the funding and installation of an information kiosk and bicycle parking rack all set in a small landscaped area near the Adàwe Crossing on the east side of the river in Overbrook.
