Opportunity to serve the community on the RRCRC Board

The Rideau-Rockliffe Community Resource Centre (RRCRC) is looking for new Board members starting June 2017.  The RRCRC, located at 225 Donald St., is one of 13 members of the Coalition of Community Health and Resource Centres across Ottawa. The Coalition is a network of multi-service, community-based health and resource centres, which recognizes the importance of responding to the diversity of needs within local communities and pays particular attention to those members of the community who are most vulnerable and at risk.

The Centre offers a number of programs for local residents in Ward 13. To learn more about the Centre’s activities please have a look here.

We are looking especially for managerial, human resources and/or financial experience on our Board, but we will consider all applicants. The Board meets monthly, except for July and August, at the Centre. Meetings usually run about two hours long, and a light supper is provided.  An annual, fully-day Board retreat is held one weekend day in the fall.  There are several standing committees of the Board (Finance, Human Resources, Governance) and each Board member is expected to participate in at least one committee.

It is not necessary for you to be a resident in Ward 13 to join the Board, although it is an asset. Board member terms are two years in length and are renewable. An application form is available by contacting me.  We ask that all applications be submitted by May 31, 2017.  New Board members will be elected at the RRCRC’s Annual General Meeting in June 2017.

Thank you very much,
