OCA monthly meeting this Thursday, 15 March

Love Overbrook? Have ideas, questions, concerns? We’ll put them on the agenda. Come meet your new OCA board members and find out what’s going on in our neighbourhood.

We hope our new Community Police Officer, Vianney Calixte, will join us too!

We meet at the Overbrook Community Centre at 7 pm. Everyone welcome.

Do you care about the future development of our neighbourhood? Curious about who’s planning to construct what? Willing to learn about zoning and development by-laws and help our community respond to various development proposals from transportation and parks to residential and commercial construction? If so, the Overbrook Planning and Development Committee would love to have you as a member!

The Planning and Development Committee is part of the Overbrook Community Association. Our role is to bring our community’s interests to bear on proposals for development; to give the community a voice when significant developments are proposed for Overbrook to ensure that they add grace to the neighbourhood and meet everyone’s needs.

When developments are planned, our committee reviews the plans and talks to neighbours, owners, architects and planners, to ensure as far as possible that what results is in the best interest of all parties – but especially of the neighbours and the community.

It helps if you have some experience in zoning by-laws and development and appeal processes, but willing learners are welcome to join the committee too. The committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month for approximately 2 hours, with two or three hours of additional work required each month to review proposals or participate in other meetings or committee work. Members are required to abide by conflict of interest rules should they have any private interests in the development of Overbrook.

If you are interested in joining the committee, please contact info@overbrook.ca.
