Calling all actors/singers!

We are looking for more actors and singers to complete the cast!

Auditions for Actors and Singers, 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Wednesday, 13 September, Overbrook Community Centre. 

Registration required: Email info@overbrook.ca, giving us your name, age, phone, address and theatre experience.

Calling all accomplished musicians!

We are looking for musicians to make up a small band with guitar, violin, cello, flute and drums. Those who register to audition need to have band experience and be able to play from chord charts.

Auditions for Musicians, 8:30 to 9:30 pm, Wednesday, 13 September at the Overbrook Community Centre. 

Pre-registration required: Email info@overbrook.ca giving your name, age, phone, address, musical instrument played, and experience.

Calling for behind the scenes help!

If being on stage is not your thing, you can still get involved. We need a front-of-house crew to look after ticket sales and distribution, snacks and drinks, ushering, etc. Backstage work includes set construction, acquisition of props, costuming, hair, make-up and helping with backstage management.

Do you have only a couple of hours to spare? Then perhaps you could help get the word out to everyone in Overbrook by helping distribute flyers on a few streets. Love social media? We have a job for you!

Or maybe you have a skill that we haven’t thought about, something that would add a special touch to the show! Please reach out to us and let us know what you would like to do.

Overbrook the Musical now has a cast!

The auditions last Sunday were a huge success! Over 30 people from the age of 7 to 72, speaking seven different languages, came to sing and show us their talent.

And what talent it was!  “Everyone can sing! We can work with them all in the musical,” enthused Eleanor Crowder, director.

But it’s not too late to join the cast and take part in this production! Send your name, contact information and a short video clip of you singing a song to info@overbrook.ca. We will get back to you with more information.

Eleanor was assisted at the auditions by Clémence Roy-Darisse, script-writer, who will now work with the cast in workshops that will build acting skills through improv, create bonds between core cast members and get a sense of the values and subjects important to the community.

We will also be organizing a song-writing workshop in the summertime. More information will be posted when the details are finalized.
