Gardening Workshop tonight!

A reminder to all interested gardeners in Overbrook:
“Gardening 101 – Gardening Basics”
Who: Tom Marcantonio, Master Gardener
What: Gardening basics in preparation for our growing season.

“What do you want to grow?”

Come with your ideas of what you would like to grow.

This workshop will help you plan your garden.


When: Wednesday, 29 March, 6:30 to 8:00 pm

Where: Overbrook Community Centre
33 Quill Street @ Queen Mary (Bus #18)
All community gardeners are encouraged to attend!

  1. Completing an application form and agreement form (see the Overbrook Community Centre office for forms)
  1.  Attending orientation and workshops

Application Form Due Dates:

* New Gardeners – due by May 1st

Note: We have 32 community garden boxes located at the Overbrook Community Centre Park. We encourage families and friends to work together on this healthy community project. Workshops and training will be available.

Cost is $25.00 for 1 – 4×8 ‘ box per season.

TIME: 9 A.M. TO 12 NOON GARDENING “ON SITE” WITH TOM

Bring your lunch, pot luck style.  Lawn chairs will help.   Lemon water will be provided.
We are pleased to welcome Tom! We hope that you will consider buying his vegetable plants. These make a great start for all Overbrook Gardeners and neighbours. Tom has generously volunteered to stay for the morning and will offer advice to us all!
This is a great opportunity to learn how to begin your garden, suggestions for planting and caring for your garden plot throughout the season.
