City receives single bid to use Ottawa Stadium

The City of Ottawa has received just one proposal from a group interested in using the Ottawa Stadium this year.
The city is reviewing the proposal, a spokesman said Friday. Bidding has closed and staff have been directed to decide the winning proposal by Feb. 1.
It’s believed the proposal came from the Ottawa Stadium Group, which had been looking to bring baseball back to the stadium. The stadium, at 300 Coventry Rd., was where the Ottawa Lynx triple-A and Ottawa Rapidz independent baseball teams used to play.
