Meet Your Municipal Candidates Thursday, September 27, 2018

The Overbrook Community Association (OCA) and the Rideau-Rockcliffe Community Resource Centre (RRCRC) invite you to come and meet your local candidates for City Councillor and School Board Trustee on Thursday, September 27 at the Overbrook Community Centre, 33 Quill Street.

5:30 pm to 6:45 pm –  “Meet and Greet”  local School Board Trustee candidates. Candidates from all four School Boards (English Public, French Public, English Catholic and French Catholic) have been invited.

7:00 pm to 9:00 pm –  Trustee candidates make brief presentations followed by Q & A with City Councillor candidates Tobi Nussbaum and Peter Heyck. Councillor candidates will answer advance questions prepared by OCA and RRCRC about local issues as well as questions submitted by the audience.

Join the OCA at the baseball game this Saturday!

Cap off the summer by gathering with your friends at the baseball stadium this Saturday starting at 6 pm!

There will be

  • a BBQ and drinks in the picnic zone down third base line
  • a chance to meet fellow OCA members and hear about our upcoming Overbrook the Musical
  • the Champions game against Sussex County Miners
  • fireworks following the game

Overbrook – Get Ready to Dance

If you’re driving through Overbrook and happen to see someone breaking into song and dance — don’t be alarmed.

The Ovebrook community is coming together this year to write, produce and perform a musical about the neighbourhood. Part of their own way of celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday, but specifically showcasing Overbrook over the last 100 or so years.

The community is coming together this year to write, produce and perform a musical about the neighbourhood.

Part of their own way of celebrating Canada’s 150th birthday, the project will specifically showcase Overbrook over the last 100 or so years.

The aim is to have the show ready by November 2017, but as organizers Wendy Dennys and Diewke de Haen point out, there is plenty to do before the curtain rises.
