You are invited to a lantern gathering to celebrate the Adawe Crossing

A group of Sandy Hill residents are suggesting that we celebrate the opening of the Adawe Crossing by holding an evening “lantern gathering” on Friday, 4 December. Everyone is invited to meet on the bridge at 7:30 pm.

Overbrook residents could meet at Riverside Memorial Park (corner of Queen Mary and North River Road) at 7 pm with their lights and sound/music makers for a lantern procession to the bridge.

Adàwe is an Algonquin term meaning “to trade”-  so feel free to bring something to pass around – a thermos of something hot to drink, snacks, a song to sing, sparklers…

Sounds like a wonderful way to celebrate this new connection to our neighbours in Sandy Hill and beyond!
