Planning & Development

Chair: Gabriel de Varennes, info@overbrook.ca

Committee Members: Carol Christensen, Wendy Dennys, Henrieta Detcheva, Gabriel de Varennes, Steve McNamee.

Meetings: The Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month, at 7:30 pm at the Overbrook Community Centre. The meetings are “open” and members of the community are welcome to attend.

What do we do?

  • Represent the best interests of the Overbrook community in consultations with the City of Ottawa Planning and Growth Management Department, developers and their representatives.
  • Participate in initiatives, studies and exercises that the City of Ottawa Planning and Growth Management Department may undertake.
  • On behalf of the community, respond to applications for development, variances or rezoning in Overbrook in order to achieve the best and most compatible results for our neighbourhood.

In 2015, our plan is to:

  • in co-operation with our Ward 13 Councillor, campaign for the City of Ottawa to consult with the Overbrook community and establish a Community Design Plan that will help to guide the future development of our community in a cohesive manner.
  • continue to represent community interests in response to development applications and through participation in city planning initiatives.
