6 pm to 8 pm at the Rideau Sports Centre / 18 h à 20 h au Centre Sportif Rideau
Join Rideau-Rockcliffe Councillor Rawlson King and other members of the community for a rally in front of City Hall (110 Laurier) on Wednesday, June 26th at 9:00 AM just before City Council.
The rally will be in support of Councillor King’s motion to, among other things, call for a ban on handguns in the City. The motion also calls for more investments into social services, community policing and measures to combat illegal gun ownership to get the root of gun crime and gun violence.
Urban city councillors will be holding a public consultation on the City of Ottawa’s new Official plan on Monday, June 24, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm, at Jean Pigott Place in City Hall (110 Laurier Avenue West).
The Official Plan is a strategic document that will guide the city’s physical growth and development for the next several decades. There will be more opportunities in the future, but currently there are two ways to engage. Residents are invited to attend Monday’s consultation and to provide feedback through an online survey until June 30. Tell us what you want your city to look like!
For more background and information on the Official Plan process, visit the City’s webpage on the new Official Plan.

The workshops will be followed by a “block party” community meal. Families and friends then take to their lawn chairs or blankets to be entertained by Overbrook’s emerging musical theatre group directed by Megan Carty and Martin Dawagne under the mentorship of Eleanor Crowder.Continue reading
