Tuesday, Jan. 31st is the next (and possibly last) public opportunity for any one of us to raise concerns about the location and other features of the new central library. Media are expected for the OPL Board’s discussion and decision that evening.

Save the date:
Ottawa Public Library Board meeting:
Tue. January 31st
5:00 pm at Champlain Room, City Hall, 110 Laurier Ave. W.
The public meeting on Jan. 18th was really well attended and full of excellent presentations and comments on why a LeBreton Flats location is not in the public interest. We can build on the momentum now at the OPL meeting.

The OPL Board will discuss and make decisions on the Dec. 2016 report recommendations. See our reaction to the report here: http://www.bookmarkthecore.ca/uploads/5/4/2/0/54208401/bmc_reaction_to_dec._15_recommendations_2016.pdf

The public can attend and speak for up to 5 minutes (but board members will not answer any questions you may raise). Public delegations can find information on how to register at biblioottawalibrary.ca/aboutOPL

The public can also comment on the staff recommendations via email (centrallibrary@ottawa.ca) and the Ottawa Central Library website.

Please attend — whether you speak or not, politicians need to see that people oppose the recommended site.

See you there.
