LAST SUNDAY, NEW LEADERSHIP WAS CHOSEN AT OCA BOARD RETREAT

On Sunday afternoon, 30 November, the Overbrook Community Association’s board of directions (newly chosen at the AGM on 20 November) gathered at the Community Centre.

Guided by an experienced psychologist and group facilitator, time was spent focusing and sharing what “community” meant to participants. In preparation for the work ahead, board members were able to connect on their shared values before engaging in the projects and activities of the Association. Everyone agreed it was time well spent.

Deciding who would lead the Association was addressed head-on. Realizing we have “big shoes to fill” with the resignation of Sheila Perry, nominations for the positions of president and vice-president were sought.

New board member, Rawlson King was nominated and agreed to take the presidency, while returning board member Réal Lambert will take the Vice-President’s position. Patrick Venier agreed to continue in his role as Treasurer, and Wendy Dennys agreed to stay on as Secretary.

Directors-at-large include Jennifer Ardiel, Marie-Caroline Badjeck, Malcolm Gibb, Joanne Lockyer, Charlotte Masemann, Victoria McMullen and Christine Sharp.

Energized by the retreat, the OCA board of directors looks forward to working with the residents of Overbrook to help our community thrive.
