How can we create SAFER STREETS in Overbrook?

This will be the topic for the next OCA meeting on Thursday, 20 February 2014 at 7 pm at the Overbrook Community Centre.

Everyone is invited to share their ideas and concerns. Representatives from Safer Roads Ottawa, RightBike and Vanier a Velo will present possible creative solutions. We will explore ways to improve the experience of pedestrians, cyclists, automobiles, and families wishing to enjoy our parks.

Be part of the conversation!

Queen Mary is a better street for cyclists than Donald for two main reasons: first, the traffic…Donald is becoming a high volume route for people wishing to avoid the congestion on the Queensway (you can witness the affects at the Donald/Alesther intersection every day; secondly, Queen Mary is much wider lending itself to a dedicated two-lane bike lane…not the most direct route from the new Rideau River pedestrian/bike bridge but much safer.
