Thanks Wendy! Now I have to live up to your intro and make history come alive. You have a lot of confidence in me. You know the special guest is George Sparks’ great-great grand-daughter Shirley, and she wants to join our Heritage Committee. I was too excited for words, when she said that. It was her house on Ontario St. that George Sparks built ca. 1826 and she did sell it in 2005, after living in it herself for 31 years. I met with her today and she’s lovely, Canada’s former ambassador to Norway. She is retired now and looking for something to do. She could bring so much to the Overbrook Community Association. She has experience in public speaking, so she could do her own Jane’s walk next year! Please tell Maureen that Shirley would love to be interviewed. It’s up to Maureen, whom she chooses for the interview, the name I have already given her or Shirley. I could put her in touch.

    Cheers, Anne

The walk and the information from Anne were really interesting. What a lovely experience with a chance to learn about our own neighbourhood.

Thank you Anne and thanks to your husband for doing such a good job as marshal.

    C. Skippen,
