Several Reminders….

1. NCC Interprovincial Bridge Open House and Rally: Tuesday, June 12
Open House : 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Place: Shenkman Centre, Orleans
The open house will provide us with additional information from the Environmental Assessment.
As you may have noticed, a number of communities are opposing an east end bridge. Manor Park, Rockcliffe and New Edinburgh will be attending a rally planned for 7:30 p.m.
Everyone is invited to attend.
In Overbrook, we continue register the following concerns:
1) Budget – bridge costs in excess of $500 million. Estimation of expenditures only.
2) Long Range Traffic Issues and Planning – have not addressed the ongoing traffic on the Vanier Parkway and the expanding Ottawa boundaries. Will a bridge solve this or increase traffic?
3) East West Corridor and LRT planning – are large expenditures. Is this a top priority for all Ottawa residents? If yes, then budget should be prioritized for LRT.

2. Safety in Overbrook:
We are reminded to take care and to be good neighbours in “Neighbourhood Watch”.
Unfortunately, a neighbour suffered theft and a vandalized home on Sunday, June 10 evening (between 11 p.m. and 12 midnight approx.) while in his home, working downstairs in his basement.
The intruders used a ladder from the garage to slice open a screen and enter the upstairs window. Police Report#12-168591
We are all reminded to report suspicious behaviour ie. loitering, suspicious cars circling or hanging about. Nosy neighbours can be great neighbours!
Reporting car license plate numbers works well.
Please report suspicious incidents to 613-230-6211 or if a crime in progress, call 911 immediately.

Thanks to everyone for supporting each other!
